A limestone range west of Ouesslatia in the Kairouan back country, declared a national park in 2010 for its Mediterranean scrub, raptors and rock art. Roman remains and painted shelters lie among the ridges.
Rules
A PERMIT IS NEEDED TO VISIT
- PERMIT
- Entry to a Tunisian national park is arranged through the Direction Generale des Forets; a written request to the DGF or the regional forestry commissariat is normally answered in three to five working days.
- GUIDE
- Recommended. There is no visitor infrastructure and tracks are unsigned.
- SEASON
- Spring and autumn; the interior is very hot in summer.
- RULES
- No camping or fires without permission from the forestry service.
